Paloff Press- Level 1 For Runners
This week's exercise is the Paloff Press. This is a great exercise for core strength, stability and controlling excessive rotation through the spine.
Why is this important for runners?
- Excessive rotation counteracts us from progressing forward...going forward is the goal of running...
- Core strength helps us to have a stable base to use our legs and arms to work off of to propel us forward.
- Core stability prevents excessive stress on the spine and its associated ligaments, muscles and the like.
There are ways to progress this exercise that I will post at a later date, but give this a try.
