Discipline for Runners

Running takes discipline… no matter what your goal is.

For those runners who are looking to finish their first 5K without walking to those who want to race Badwater or obtain a BQ, it takes discipline to work toward those results.

I like this quote: “In terms of optimal performance, to be disciplined means understanding the elements required to achieve an objective, and then being steadfast in executing those elements.” –Rich Diviney

I challenge you (if you haven’t done so already), to look at your running goals and break them down into parts. Make sure that you are addressing all the pieces as best that you can and reach out to someone if you find a deficit.

Ideas: nutrition, sleep, stress management, strength training, number of miles per week/month, training plan, footwear, overall health, mental and physical well being, etc.

Being a good runner is not all about paces, miles and oh the shoes. You may not have thought about a few of those things above, but the whole picture is powerful.

Keep living that run life, one mile at a time and let me know if you have any questions.

In-person services are closed until further notice, but coaching will continue. Thank you for your understanding.
